Choir

Our Voice Choir has rehearsal on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 pm. New members are always welcome. We meet for rehearsals every Wednesday evening in the Music Room located through lower Bushnell Hall. The choir also “warms-up” Sunday mornings at 10:00 in the Music Room. The choir sings regularly at Worship September through early June. During the summer months, a “pick-up choir” meets in the Music Room 30 minutes before worship to pick-up a piece of music, learn it – then sing it during the worship service.

Hand Bell Choir

Our church Bell Choir rehearses Thursday evenings at 5:30 pm in lower Bushnell Hall. New ringers are encouraged and welcome. We ring using three octaves of Schulmerich Hand bells and three octaves of choir chimes.

Bells of Fire

Bells of Fire is a community hand bell group that meets Wednesdays from 9:30 to 11:30 in the morning in lower Bushnell Hall (9am to 11am in the summer). This group is open to anyone in the community or from Central Baptist Church that desires to ring hand bells. Jane Nolan from Gales Ferry CT is the director. Jane has many years of hand bell experience and is also the director of the Shoreline Ringers. The community hand bell group was formed in the Spring of 2007 as an outreach to our community – ALL are welcome. The group is available for performances outside the church facility.

Organ

Our Rodgers Trillium Masterpiece is a four manual, 85 stop digital instrument. Added to the basic instrument is a MIDI system that adds an additional 1100 pipe, orchestral and percussion sounds.

Music at Central

The Music at Central concert series seeks to expand on the role of community outreach and open the doors of Central Baptist Church to welcome the public at large by offering a diverse genre of music.

While the concerts are held inside a church building, musical content will vary from concert to concert and may or may not include “religious” music.
